About Rob Neto

Rob Neto writes psychological thrillers and real-world underwater exploration narratives shaped by firsthand experience below the surface.

His work draws from years of cave exploration in Florida and Cozumel, where precision is not optional and the psychological pressure of confined environments is very real. That pressure informs both his nonfiction and his fiction.

Exploration and Technical Foundation

Rob has spent more than two decades scuba diving, much of that time in caves and sidemount configuration. His exploration work includes miles of mapped passage in Florida and Cozumel, including significant expansion of the Bozel and Cueva Quebrada cave systems.

His technical manual, Sidemount Diving The Almost Comprehensive Guide, grew out of years of configuration refinement in environments where mistakes are amplified. The book has been translated into multiple languages and is used by divers worldwide.

The Beyond Series

In the Beyond Series, Rob explores how isolation, confinement, and pressure reshape people when escape is not always upward.

The series has received multiple Global Book Awards in Suspense and Psychological Thriller categories.

Rather than inventing environments, Rob writes from places he has actually explored – translating real-world tension into narrative form.

Underwater Exploration Narratives

Rob also documents real cave exploration in:

  • The Hidden Rivers of Florida
  • Beneath the Jungle of Cozumel

These books chronicle discovery, logistics, setbacks, teamwork, and the human drive to push further underground.

The environments are real.
The risks are real.
The discoveries are documented.
